Happy New Years! I can’t believe it is already 2019. Since my goal for the year is to capture all the memorable and fun things Zach and I do this year, I only feel it's appropriate to start with New Year’s Eve.
As someone who loves to sleep, New Year’s Eve has never really been my “thing.” I have always heard people label themselves as morning-people or night-people and never really understood it. I am a sleep person. Or a nap person. Or a go to bed by 10 and sleep till 8 person. I just love sleep. Growing up, my family would watch the crystal ball drop in Times Square from our living room at 9pm and then get some sleep. To this day I think there has been maybe 3 times I have stayed up till midnight on New Years Eve and this year was one of them. I have to say, this year made me question if I have been missing out all my life by ditching out on New Years by 10 pm.
This year Zach and I joined his family in Lake Arrowhead to celebrate the new year. With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 8 people, and 4 dogs it was a circus- but the good kind of circus! We brought our 4 month old mini Australian Shepard puppy, Koa, with us and she was the source of most of the entertainment for the weekend. From running around at full speed between furniture legs and people, barking at any moving thing outside the window, and learning how to play “tag” with one of the pugs in Arrowhead with us it was more than entertaining. Walking, shopping, napping, football watching, and WAY to much eating was a great way to close out 2018 and celebrate this new chapter!
